Relic Reborn Cover Reveal

After years of planning, writing, editing, and worldbuilding, I’m delighted to finally reveal the cover for Relic Reborn.
Set in the dark fantasy world of Azangrail, Relic Reborn follows Darius Reiver, Grand Master of the Knights of Sul ‘Van, as faith, loyalty, and survival collide in a realm haunted by ancient powers.
Today I can finally share the cover that will accompany the novel when it is published in September 2026.
The artwork was created by Saira Iqbal, who did a fantastic job capturing both the scale of the threat facing Azangrail and the journey awaiting Darius.
Saira was a pleasure to work with, although there was a lot of back and forth between us since the turn of the year. More than once I came back asking for a tweak here, a change there, or a different approach to a particular detail. Could the cape be a tiny bit darker? Could this element be moved slightly? Throughout the process she was incredibly patient and brought every idea to life far better than I could have imagined.
What immediately drew me to the piece was the contrast between the lone figure standing against an overwhelming darkness. That image captures much of what lies at the heart of the story.
On the full cover, Saira carried Hyrax’s wing across the spine and extended the mountains across the back cover rather than leaving it plain. It’s a detail I particularly love, and one of the reasons I’m looking forward to sharing the full hardback dust jacket design soon.
The road to publication has been a long one, and seeing the cover finally completed makes the release feel very real. If I’m honest, it also makes September feel rather closer than I'd quite like!
I hope you enjoy this first look at Relic Reborn as much as I do.
Thank you for following the journey.
Iain
